Cardinals Are A Gift From God
Since today is the first day of spring, I thought I would include a poem, The Cardinal, I wrote years ago to celebrate the season. If you like this poem, checkout my book of poetry, Rhymes For All Reasons on my website… www.kentuckychronicles.com
The Cardinal
Once a Cardinal blessed my lawn
To bring the light of burning dawn
And from his colors, I could see
A fleeting moment’s ecstasy
Little bird where did you come
Was it some window left undone
Within God’s chambers did you roam
To where you lost your sacred home
But here you show your garments grand
While teasing pallets of your land
Bring His rays of hope to me
Through the redness of your sun’s beauty
